maker of curiosities
Brooklyn, NYC

“I try to create some sense of authenticity and timeless appeal in everything that I make: things look vintage, ‘found’ or used (in a well-loved way) even though they are newly made.”

Alyssa admits that she’s an avid collector (read: hoarder). Yes, flea markets and junkyards set her heart racing—and her little Brooklyn studio is filled with natural objects and vintage finds. Envision rare plumage, knotty antlers and well-loved vintage knickknacks among her ceramic tools and printing materials. Inspired by such ephemera, she creates simple vintage-inspired home goods that could be found behind glass in the curiosity cabinet—or in a modern design museum.
