Like many of the trailblazers paid homage to in their designs, Matt and Tracy are self taught. They learned the screenprinting trade from trial and error, with the help of Tracy’s experience working in a print shop growing up. Neither brother is bearded, their shop name refers not to themselves, but is a tongue in cheek reference to Johannes Gutenberg, Johann Fust and Peter Schoffer, pioneers of print as co-creators of the printing press, that very first ink slinging machine. Just like those gentlemen of yore, Tracy and Matt create original printing templates, to replicate illustrated works of art in batches cranked (in this case, pulled) by hand.
