“I love working with porcelain because of how stubborn it is – it really needs to be babied or it cracks and warps. It’s a challenge but I find the end results so much more satisfying.”
Kimberly's first ever pottery wheel arrived as a gift for her 25th birthday, and it was this inspiring gesture that started it all. And by "it all" we mean Covet and Ginger, Kimberly's pottery company. Today the clay fanatic makes all of her delicate porcelain items on that very same wheel. It's therapeutic, she says. Although working with porcelain requires careful handling, Kimberly finds that challenge makes it all that much more rewarding. Of course, in the event that something should go awry, she's always got a helping hand at the ready in her communal studio's fellow artists.
