"We love all the knots, the variations in grain color, and the feel of the worn wood that has weathered for years. You can tell that each piece has a story to tell."
For Ky, learning basic skills in shop class was only the beginning. He started building small items out of reclaimed wood––a habit that led a friend to convince Ky to gut his kitchen completely, and then build
cabinets. Although it took over a year, Ky learned some valuable lessons along the way. And the frames and mirrors he makes nowadays? They're made with the most interesting pieces of discarded wood, and use a lot of sturdy construction methods that sound rather intimidating––pocket hold joints and a keyhole slot hanging systems, for example. We trust that he knows what he's doin'.< less
