Fabric Designer
San Carlos, CA

“Most of time I start by sketching on paper and then scan the drawing into computer to work on the repeat and placement of pattern designs. Then, I look at the textile patterns and decide on how to use the patterns in bags.”

A native of Taiwan, Yaling moved to San Francisco in order to study design — an excellent choice as it turns out. As part of her final project, she designed a few bags (fabric and all) that received outstanding feedback, which gave her further encouragement to dive headfirst into the world of fashion design. Since then, Yaling has won many design awards and her work is often featured in magazines — you won't find her bragging about it though. She's happiest when she's playing around with sketches on the computer, creating new patterns that she can't wait to start printing. (We're pretty excited too.)
