Girl Meets Dirt

Preserves Pro
Orcas, WA

"Working with the fruit of these trees makes me grateful: for the bounty the land provides, and the simple human ingenuity that inspired us long ago to preserve it."

After spending almost ten years working the Wall Street ladder, Audra jumped ship (along with her husband and two dogs), returning to her roots in more ways than one. The family headed out West, and Audra dug her heels deeply into their modern farmette. She fell in love with the magic of growing food and eating seasonally, and grew an appreciation for the tradition of orchards that naturally led her toward fruit preserves. She uses only organic cane sugar and fruit from the San Juan islands, and not a drop of pectin. This is the real deal. Oh, and those old stilettos of hers? They're collecting dust in the closet
