"I use a variety of processes, including traditional metalsmithing techniques mixed with modern technologies, alternative materials and found objects."
Unlike most things that get their start in high school (a few hairstyles come to mind), Madeline's hobby of wrangling together found jewelry had staying power. She taught herself bead working and wire wrapping, whipping together and then selling piece after piece of wearable art. Eventually, she received her BFA at SCAD and learned some tips straight from the pros. A few years later, and she's crafting jewelry that combines traditional metalsmithing techniques (forging and lost-wax casting) with the more modern stuff (CAD and 3D printing). It's eclectic, unpredictable and all-around lovely. < less
