“I think that the most interesting part of printmaking is the final product. Each print is going to take on its own original character. Some prints will look more distressed and others will look really crisp and clean.”

With a background in architecture, Toni always had a passion from making things—things as big as a building or as small as a simple piece of jewelry. She was doing some abstract watercolor painting—somewhere in between those two, by our standards—but people kept telling her that her work looked like a block print. Hmm, she thought, what are these prints that you speak of? She loved the idea of being able to produce more of her works, putting it on the walls of more people’s homes. So she began to slowly teach herself the art of block printing, which expanded into a whole line of unique hand-pulled works with interesting angular designs and tribal details. Wonder if she could make one as big as a house? We’ll ask, just in case.
