While Alexandra’s husband Haskel was spending 17 hours a day studying for the bar exam, Alexandra baked cookies to keep him motivated. Haskel loved her homemade cookies, something she’s been making since she was a child. After tons of cram sessions filled with cookies, a lay off from her job, and booths at a few local markets, “The Cookie” was born. Alexandra’s baked goods are made from scratch with secret recipes, which she’s not telling. (We asked, she won't budge.) The only thing you need to know? Each cookie and brownie is finished with a sprinkling of sea salt and tastes delicious.< less
