Sarah Mimo Clocks

Brooklyn, NYC

"I wanted to create a clock people could get lost in––where they no longer cared what time it was. Sometimes I wish people would forget to put in batteries and just enjoy them."

Expertly toeing the line between durable and delicate, Sarah's laser-cut, hand-finished clocks serve as a gentle reminder that every once and awhile, it's okay to forget the time. The unique clocks started out as a personal project way back when Sarah was studying illustration––something to distract her from the hum-drum of academic life. Her designs are strictly asymmetrical and she embraces the small details in the wood that make each piece unique (It gives them more character, she explains). Sarah stains and finishes each of the mesmerizing, laser-cut clocks by hand before fitting them with American-made gearboxes.
