Michael (co-owner): “Oh, I don’t know... some people like to bring a sampling to dinner parties. Some give them as gifts or take them home to share. One customer of ours always eats his right here at the register, coconut flakes all over his face and on the floor... so then, I guess there’s always that option, too.”
After I was able to check out “Chocolate Nirvana” (Chocolate Pink’s official offsite bakery), I totally get why this dude couldn’t wait to sit down with his cupcake. I was near drooling as head pastry chef Christian Balbierer tended to trays of his masterpiece mini desserts; he offered me a few samples to take home (did I mention I love my job?) and it was there that I figured out my own way of indulging in these, um, individual desserts.”
Step 1: Blow off dinner.
Step 2: Open dessert box. Stare at contents.
Step 3: Slice off “just a sample” sliver so as to try their signature Chocolate Pink Mousse Cake. (plate optional)
Step 4: Reach Chocolate Nirvana.
Step 5: Hit up dessert box for “just one more tiny sample”.
Step 6: Repeat Step 4 ‘til whole cake disappears.
Now, for those of you who just aren’t into chocolate (I don’t get you... but I digress), there’s also the Key Lime Pie, cheesecake, and an assortment of cupcakes: Dulce de Leche, coconut, and PB&J to name just a few. Those babies are in my fridge waiting for another night -- good thing Christian promised me that, when he makes all these irresistible little morsels, he takes out all of the calories.**
