Scout this: They call it a “splendid bridge for a global taste in flavor, music, personality and design”. We’d just like to call it an award-winning Mediterranean menu with a festive atmosphere and some extra festive drinks. The people at Gilbert’s feel kind of like family, even if you’ve never met them before.
The Field Notes: What's a Scout to expect at Gilbert’s?
If you ask Gilbert, he’ll give you the run-down of the exciting events happening every SINGLE night of the week. It's a lot to remember, but just to whet your appetite: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are Wii Nights (starting at 10pm), Wednesday and Sunday host Karaoke, and Friday and Saturday nights bring you a little Late-night Partyin'.
But if you ask me (and I realize you haven’t, but I’m telling you anyway), I'd say be ready for some surprisingly delicious Mediterranean food. Not surprising as in, “I thought the food would be subpar”, but surprising as in, "Wait a second, isn't this the 10th and Piedmont packed-out party spot? You’re meaning to tell me it also happens to have some pretty tasty Mediterranean food I've been missing out on?!"
Yes, self. That’s what I’m telling you. But we're coming to find that this may just be the best part of our little Scoutmob game: you take a curious look (and a helpful discount) at all the places you thought you already knew, and you realize there's even more cool stuff waiting for you to discover...
Whether you're into some Mediterranean flavors or just a festive group of folks, you have to come try the Baba Ghannouj, the lamb tenderloin, and the almond-crusted tilapia (my personal fave)... stay for a famous mojito or maybe a Tiramisu martini to top it off. Next thing you know, you’ll be joining Gilbert in some Wii Bowling, doing your best Cher impression on the mic, and channeling a little Lady Gaga during that late night party.
Come for part of it... or stay for all of it. Either way, Gilbert looks forward to seeing you there.
