Nectar has made it their mission to educate Atlanta on what it means to truly eat well: simple ingredients, exotic superfoods, no sugar, no preservatives, and delicious options for every meal of the day. The Full Story: If I had the ingredients, the equipment, and such know-how to create this kind of fresh, raw fare at home, I’d likely be the healthiest eater I know. Obviously, that just ain’t the case. Next best option? Hitting up Nectar for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. Brought to you by the family who runs Bhojanic Indian Food just next door, Nectar is about as fresh as food can come. That is, unless you chew your own wheatgrass straight from the ground.
Guarv, who runs this Decatur shop along with his wife, says their mission is to educate Atlantans about TRUE healthy food: using transparent ingredients (and only a few of them), keeping things raw, no sugar added and no packaging needed... just beautiful, clean eating as nature intended. And, sadly, this kind of eating really isn’t readily available in our daily lives.
I tried their “Sun Salutation”, made with freshly-juiced carrots, beets, apples, and ginger. It was literally the rawest, most refreshing treat I’ve had in as long as I can remember. My body was literally thanking me with every sip (and it doesn’t do that very often).
Besides liquid fare, Nectar offers salads, soups, paninis, and local organic ice cream (hey, if you’re going to indulge, might as well make sure it’s with the best stuff available). Guarv recommends their Hearts of Palm Salad and Smoked Chicken & Pesto Panini. I recommend eating here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if you want to feel amazing about your diet.
