The Scoop: The name makes it sound like a place where proper ladies go to drink tea from precious China. Pinkies up. But TINY Bistro is actually a tucked-away weekday lunch spot where hearty sandwiches and house-made soups are served up in a simple, no-frills space. Everything is made fresh daily, all meats are roasted in-house, and soups are created on a weekly basis. There are new specials each week, but the main menu is full of tempting Cubans, Reubens, and Turkey Meatloaf sammies. Of course, there are light and healthy options like mixed green and pear salad for those who prefer a more dainty midday meal. And then, to keep things extra-fresh, there are weekly specials always waiting for you in the bistro case.

Scout Notes: Figs & Honey started their catering company nine years ago, but when the Westside neighborhood started lighting up with more residents and restaurants, owners Karen and Rob decided to open TINY as their front-facing weekday-only lunch nook. Lucky for the Westside - this is the kind of fairly-priced casual gourmet that Atlanta simply needs more of during the work week. Put in your order, grab a seat in their tiny dining room, or wait for your bistro sandwich or salad to go. The decor is minimal, with hot pink florals and a chalkboard menu as makeshift wallpaper. It fulfills the cutesy namesake with a simple cheery atmosphere, but doesn’t try too hard to be more than a good place to grab lunch and go.

So what if you’re chained to your cubicle during lunch hours? You’ll be pleased to know that, starting in March, TINY will start their supper club series. In the style of their catering specialties, each dinner will be much more than bistro sandwiches - five course meals will be announced with suggested wine and beer pairings (the beverages are B.Y.O.B. since TINY doesn’t have the license). The lack of liquor works nicely, because the price point remains at an easy-to-swallow $30-$40 for a five course evening. And if you rather just drink your dinner, owners Karen and Rob host a wine tasting here each week. So even if lunch isn’t your time to swing by, there are plenty of ways to get your TINY fill.
