The scoop: Local folks, kind flavors, and a laid-back neighborhood atmosphere. Rosebud is proud of its dedication to organic and local ingredients and a creative, farm-to-table menu, not to mention a pretty creative cocktail list as well. Scoutmob gives you 30% off Rosebud in Morningside (near Virginia-Highland), where Chef Ron Eyester has taken the reigns of what used to be Food 101... where he put his love of good food and good music front and center.

The full story: It’s nothing to do with Citizen Kane. And it’s definitely not a cutesy floral thing. Chef Ron Eyester named his restaurant Rosebud as a tribute to Jerry Garcia’s beloved guitar. So the focus here isn’t just about using local organic ingredients, it’s also all about that laid-back atmosphere. “We like comfortable food, loud music and a good drink,” the website says. From the looks of the Garcia lyrics chalked on the walls and the sounds of acoustic guitars coming from the speakers, it seems the crew here definitely holds onto that motto.

And if you’re one of those breakfast-for-dinner lovers, we might have your new favorite spot; their Monday Night Brunch-dinners (Brinners?) give you the perfect excuse to have your eggs with wine. The menu will guide you to the perfect pairing... and, yes, I know what you’re thinking: wine and egg -- together at last.

There's also, of course, the music. Live bands grace Rosebud with acoustic ambiance every Thursday night and, when the weather itself becomes a little more laid-back, the show will go to the patio. There's also the occasional music-themed dinners; coming up is a Billy Joel-style “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” night as well as the (you could’ve guessed) Garcia-inspired event with a menu full of the legend’s favorite foods. That meal also comes with a taste of the owner/chef/singer rocking on stage with the band.

Kind flavors, creative drinks, and a good bit of that Garcia-attitude in the mix. As the man said so himself, “Our strong suit is what we do, and our audience.”

I’m sure Ron and his own Rosebud crew would second that statement.
