After twenty-five years of wetting the whistles of Toco Hills, Famous Pub has pretty much achieved that venerable "neighborhood watering hole" designation. Just ask any of the regulars who saddle up to the bar with a 34-ounce frosted mug in hand—we're sure they could regale you with a couple tales from the pub's long and storied past. Two decades of partying can take its toll on a place, but thanks to a top-to-bottom renovation a few months ago, Famous is as youthful as ever. And, as many a famous type could tell you, there's nothing a little facelift can't fix.

Pubs don't hang around Atlanta for over two decades unless they're doing something right. Famous' specialty? Making everyone feel at home. The pub's blue collar aesthetic appeals to folks of all stripes, from grad students to biker chicks (after all, beer really is the great unifier). Some head to Famous to watch sports games on the pub's huge TVs. Some head to Famous to catch live bands or Metalsome karaoke back in Club Famous, the bar's event space (if you really feel the urge to be famous, Metalsome is the perfect way to score your fifteen minutes.). And some just like to kick it at the bar, snack on the pub's famous wings, and nurse a frosted 34-ounce mug of Famous Pub Brew. There may be a fresh coat of paint on the place, but Famous is still as laid-back a watering hole as ever. That pub-style comfort is, after all, what they're famous for.
