We insist on a pretty strict dress code around here—spats, cravats, well-trimmed mustache. Needless to say, the menfolk are looking dapper, but the gals are a little miffed. Thankfully, we've discovered the yin to our yang at Uomo & Donna, a storied ATL men's costumery that debuted an equally dashing ladies line just this spring. So, it was high time he gave the women some fashion lovin'. And boy, did he. This Donna is, in a word, fierce. Whether she's 20 or 50, she can shimmy into a skin-tight sheath from Bedo (a totally haute line from France) or a flowing, neon-bright blouse from Desigual (a Spanish label) and work it, baby! Which makes her the perfect match for the Uomo across the room - the man rocking a slick Bertigo button-down and an even slicker pair of Italian leather loafers.

The co-ed boutique is split, much like my middle-school dances, with Uomo's (men's) on the left, Donna's (women's) on the right and a mod little parlor area in the center. Unlike at my middle-school dances, however, this setup makes for an entirely non-soul-crushing selection experience. Here, couple's shopping is something you actually want to do. Rather than lingering outside the boyfriends' dressing room, holding his fanny pack while he tries on 10 pairs of skinny jeans (am I right, ladies?), I can peruse the side of the store dedicated to making me look—dare I say it?—hot. I half expected the mannequins to look the lady-quins up and down and drawl, "Daaammnn, girrrll!" And these brick-house looks are built to last. Lafayette's gentlemen clients are still getting compliments on their Uomo threads from ten years ago. Which is something I definitely can't say about my favorite skort...
