In a land of clubs and bars where you can't get in unless you're On The List and you can't get out without spending half your rent check, East Paces Tavern is just what the doctor ordered.Buckhead isn't short on spendy, see-and-be-seen nightlife, but one thing the average Joe might have a hard time sniffing out uptown? A place where real folks come to take a load off, knock back a cold brew, and bask in the glow of ESPN. East Paces Tavern is a brand-new addition to the streets of Buckhead (no, not those Streets of Buckhead), but it's of the Cheers-y breed of sports bar: feels like it's been around for ages, and feels like you've been a regular there for almost as long.
In a land of clubs and bars where you can't get in unless you're On The List and you can't get out without spending half your rent check, East Paces Tavern is just what the doctor ordered. The beer's cold, the menu is chock-full of bites that out-delicious your average pub grub, and the bartenders will make any drink you want without giving you a snarky side-eye. (Hey, bartender, I didn't ask for a garnish of sass atop my apple cosmotini.) In fact, owner Amanda, who's lived and worked in Buckhead bars for two decades, has a cultish following for her own beverage recipe, the "Amandarita." And it just so happens to pair quite nicely with the bar's fish tacos, a staff favorite around the tavern's kitchen. The menu they've put together is a diverse mix, from shrimp po'boys to a classic steak sandwich, all of which are just perfect for soaking up any extra Hopsecutioner you might've consumed over the course of the evening. And if you work in Buckhead, you'll be happy to know that the tavern is smoke-free during lunch, so you can tuck into a barbecue Bullseye burger (maybe while watching a game on your in-booth TV?) and return to the office without reeking of Virginia Slims. It's a perfect antidote to the unce-unce-unce atmosphere of many a Buckhead bar. And you definitely don't have to be on any kind of list to get in and enjoy the spoils.
