It's a slice of Americana fit for a Springsteen ode. It's a piece of Pleasantville smack-dab in the middle of the city. It's a perfect place to end a late night (and probably was 60 years ago, too—did sockhops end with a Zesto milkshake, too?). The iconic little diner has been an Atlanta landmark in Little Five since 1949, putting their signature old-school spin on burgers, chili dogs, onion rings, and, of course, their infamous milkshakes. Those cold, creamy concoctions have been proverbially bringing all the boys (and girls) to the yard for six decades, approximately a century and a half in Atlanta restaurant years. True to their small-town, old-school ways, they do it right: real ice cream (not the "ice milk" that certain mega-chains will use) that makes it perfectly thick and creamy. And with a huge selection of flavors (strawberry, peach, Oreo, banana, butterscotch, need me to keep going?) there'll always be one to tickle your fancy (and slurp on after polishing off your Chubby Decker burger or Foot Long 'dog).

Just hanging out inside Zesto feels like you've just emerged from a time machine, like maybe you should be rocking a slick Elvis 'do or a poodle skirt while sipping on that malt (waiting for the Fonz to come sweep you off your feet... sorry, I'm getting carried away). There's something to be said for this joint's longevity: Atlanta might be on the constant chase for the new and shiny, but despite our goldfish-like attention span, we've been loyal to this institution for decades. Then again, as long as you feed us juicy burgers and delightfully creamy milkshakes, we'll never stop loving you.
