The ever-generous Murphy is offering a little something special: a 64-ounce growler itself, ready for you to fill 'er up with your elixir of choice from his collection of thirty craft beers on tap.

The skinny on this place: I, your faithful writer, consider myself a true-blue ITPer. But this place makes me almost want to move to Alpharetta. Okay, perhaps that's a bit rash, but let me tell you why. I'd pay a few tolls just to be able to pop into Blind Murphy's, peruse the growlers, and perhaps get a jump on fall with a pumpkin brew (yep, they're already out), but I'd also come just to hang out. It's that kind of place, and that's exactly the vision that owner Dave had in mind. He, an Alpharetta resident himself, didn't just want a great craft beer store—he also wanted a place where people could gather 'round a homebrew demo and just relax. While being surrounded by some of the best craft brews one can scour up. And, ahem, free samples. Sounds like my kind of hangout... especially since there's a weiner dog involved.

Indeed, Blind Murphy may be not only one of the first OTP craft beer markets, but also one of the first dachshund-backed businesses to set up shop in Alpharetta. Murphy himself, a shiny black weiner dog, runs the show, and in an early interview with us, took the credit for being the first growler shop in the area to give people samples of the beer before committing to all 64 ounces of it (hey, that's a big commitment). And now, the ever-generous Murphy is offering a little something else: the growler itself, ready for you to fill 'er up with your elixir of choice. Now, to be clear, we're talking the actual growler, pre-beer, up for grabs (even dachshunds have to stick to state law—no free beer here, folks). But with a wall of thirty brews from which to choose, and the very knowledgeable Dave (or one of the other staff, all of whom are homebrewers) as your very own seeing-eye beermeister, you're guaranteed to walk out of Blind Murphy toting a jug of delicious suds.
