“I’m not just here to help people see better, I’m also here to help them look better and feel better about their own appearance." - Dr. Divya BhaktaForget the old “four eyes” stereotype associated with wearing glasses. What once was considered geek is now the new chic. And Midtown’s Eyedeology is here to make that modern vision of eyewear perfectly clear. Walking into Eyedeology feels more like walking into a chic spa or facial boutique. Maybe a high-end jeweler. Which, I guess, in a way, that’s kind of what it is. Dr. Divya Bhakta and the crew here in Midtown represent a more fashionable approach to eyewear than the average optometrist or even sunglasses store. The eyeglasses were all so incredibly cool, I joked that I was tempted to wear them without prescription lenses, just because I liked 'em so much. Turns out, people do that already. A lot of people.
This isn’t some drab clinic where you go to read letters off a chart; all the equipment here is Mac-based software and the focus is on patients feeling comfortable with their Eyedeology friends. Dr. Bhakta believes in the design of eyewear; in her eyes, it’s as much about the look and feel as it is function. She likes people to think of glasses as jewelry, her patients as friends, and the boutique as a well-designed spectacle. Here in the boutique, you can have the help of the expert Eyedeologists who will give you honest opinions on how frames should flatter your face and help your eyes. As Dr. Bhakta explained, her vision of eyewear is all about quality of life: “I’m not just here to help people see better, I’m also here to help them look better and feel better about their own appearance."
