- Old Fourth Ward
The newly renovated space, with warm reclaimed woods and a more open seating area, is an ideal place to cozy up with a Negroni or two for an evening—especially now that they're keeping the lights on later into the night. They can pour a perfect cup, pull a top-notch shot, and school you on exactly why your mug of heirloom Ethiopian tastes like an entirely different beverage from the Folgers at the office. And even if you can't quite pinpoint those undertones of honey and citrus they're telling you about, one thing is pretty obvious: these people know how to make a delicious drink. So, after a couple years of convincing many an Atlantan to step away from the venti frappelatte, it only makes sense that the folks behind Condesa are extending their talents into the realm of adult beverages, too. With a shiny new liquor license and a chemist-like nerd love for understanding everything that goes into a drink, the baristas at Condesa are now crafting classic cocktails and specialty libations right alongside their expertly concocted coffees and espressos. Shots (of espresso or booze?) for everyone!
The staff wanted to give Atlanta a place where one can enjoy a good cocktail in a quiet, comfortable environment; a place where you might stop in for a craft beer and a small plate or two and enjoy a calm, sane respite from the usual bar scenery. (Call me crazy and/or 75 years old, but every now and then, a Sazerac and a good conversation sounds more appealing than pounding PBRs to the sounds of that one girl's karaoke homage to Sheryl Crow.) The newly renovated space, with warm reclaimed woods and a more open seating area, is an ideal place to cozy up with a Negroni or two for an evening (especially now that they're keeping the lights on later into the night), and the small plates menu is perfect fodder to keep you satiated whilst sipping on a stiff libation: sesame bagel with North Georgia trout, local charcuterie, and a pimiento cheese plate served with Holeman & Finch bread, to name a couple.. And, just like when they first won you over with their single-origin espresso concoctions, the Condesa baristas will show you exactly how much better a truly good drink can be... no matter which kind of shot you're thirsting for.
