Rule #1 of searching for solid, authentic New York pizza in Atlanta: it's always good when the guy running the show is actually from New York.Rule #1 of searching for solid, authentic New York pizza in Atlanta: it's always good when the guy running the show is actually from New York. Hence why the pies at Siracusa's have, in owner Dave's words, everything a true New York pizza has (besides, you know, that lovely NYC water). With that trademark thin, crispy crust, and the best cheese, meats, and produce they can find, it only makes sense that Siracusa's snagged a "Best Of" title after only a year (and change) in business. But it's not just the actual pies that make Siracusa's a Smyrna favorite. It's a true neighborhood pizza pub — or, in Dave's words, "the kind of place I grew up in," complete with regulars, kids, and general good vibes all 'round. Between the familiar atmosphere, the real-deal pizza, and the legit upstate NY-style wings, it's the kind of joint every neighborhood, from Brooklyn to Smyrna, needs. (And it never hurts to have a bocce ball court, either.)
