Paradise Biryani Pointe

50% off Paradise Biryani Pointe
In these parts, go-to Indian places are hard to come by. Or were, anyway. Owner Pavan is shaking things up with his quick, fresh and authentic Hyderabadi cuisine, served in a clean, minimalist dining space.
Close your eyes. Think of your average hole-in-the-wall Indian place–you know the type, dim and dingy, full of thick, curry-infused air and sub-par cuisine. Never fear, Paradise Biryani Pointe is a vast improvement over those other locales. Now open your eyes. This rising Alpharetta star is decorated in a sleek and clean, minimalist design. It's an open space in calming whites and grays with tall ceilings, solitary edison bulbs hanging from the ceiling, and light streaming in through the expansive windows. Yes, this is the sort of place that just begs for you to swing by for a quick lunch, or pop in with a buddy or three to linger over dinner.

The owner, Pavan, had tired of Atlanta's practically documented lack of real, no-naansense (mmhmm) Indian fare and was inspired by concepts he'd seen in New York. And so, nearly two years ago, he rolled out Paradise's simple, easy-to-understand menu featuring the hits from Central India. The Hyderabadi cuisine is influenced by ancient Persian cooking, and includes such classics as Paradise's namesake: biryani. A flavorful rice dish, it is only prepared in the traditional way, which is to say, the right way. Though the speediness of each order may have you fooled: they aren't just plopping bland, universal rice into each of the dishes, mixing it after the fact. Each type of biryani is cooked ahead of time, either raw meat or raw vegetables along with the raw rice. In this way, Pavan explains, the dish is guaranteed to be bursting with authentic flavor. And just like the biryani, every dish you'll find on the menu, from spicy garlic naan to chicken tikka masala is made on-site, using only the highest quality ingredients. Really makes you re-evaluate your lunchtime decision-making paradigm, doesn't it?
