With a perfectionist chef that hails from a famous 5-star hotel in Thailand and soothing environs—this Thai joint serves up more than a mean pad thai. Though, to be fair, they do that too.If you're anything like us (and we hope, dear reader, that you are) your mouth salivates and your ears perk up involuntarily at the mere suggestion of Thai food for lunch or dinner or (let's be honest with ourselves) snacktime. Because few things satisfy our cravings for spicy, exotic cuisine quite like a steaming pile of egg and bean sprout infused pad thai. It was with an understanding for this yearning that Karita and her husband Sam took over the quaint Lime Juice Thai Bistro, tucked away in a strip mall along a busy Alpharetta road. The space is intimate and calming—with soothing greens and sleek blacks adorning the booths and tables. And when you first step foot inside, you'll be surprised at just how comfortable you feel. But that's no accident, Sam and Karita want their customers to feel at home as they chomp Pineapple Chicken (which is served on a pineapple) and daintily sip their supremely-sweet Thai tea.
Chef Apirat hails directly from Thailand, and it's safe to say that, as an employee of a famous 5-star Thai hotel, he's a pretty big deal. And he's not just authentic–he's a perfectionist. Every dish that leaves the kitchen has passed his standards with flying colors, from the coconut soup to the pad thai, and every plate of seafood in between. This dedication to quality shows, especially in the faces of customers, happily chatting, dining on Ta-Lay-Thai (sauteed shrimp, squid, scallops, mussels and vegetable in creamy chili sauce) and grinning. We'll have what they're having.
