Why is this Irish pub so beloved in Buckhead? We have a feeling it might have something to do with the laid-back vibes, hearty pub grub and 50+ beers (but the porter-spiked Irish mac 'n cheese probably doesn't hurt, either).Steadfast and reliable, always there for you in your time of need, able to melt your cares away at a moment's notice... no, we're not talking about your dog, your bottle of emergency vodka or your well-worn Golden Girls DVD box set. We're talking, of course, about the Irish pub, that tried-and-true old friend, who always has a fresh-pulled Guinness and a warm plate of fish 'n chips at the ready. And in Buckhead, few of these specimens are quite as beloved as Stout. We have a feeling that the 50-plus beers and low-key vibes might have something to do with that.
For five years, Stout's been like a dark, cozy living room for Buckhead, giving its neighbors a place of respite, relaxation and ever-flowing beer. In a neighborhood poxed with purse dogs and $15 cocktails, this here's a welcome oasis of camaraderie and comfort. Speaking of comfort, let's talk about the ultimate in comfort fare: mac 'n cheese. We're pretty sure Stout's mac is scientifically engineered to pair perfectly with a cold one, probably because the chef's take on the comfort food classic is laced with Irish porter (and, as if it couldn't get any better, topped with bacon bread crumbs). Beer, cheese and bacon? This old pal sure knows the way to our hearts.
