Little Thai

50% off Little Thai
This cozy joint whips up a mean pad-see-ew, is beloved for its creamy coconut cake and was recently bestowed with an award of excellence from the Thai Ministry of Commerce for serving up truly authentic grub. What's not to love?
Truth: a good neighborhood Thai joint is hard to come by. And the quest to single out that one charming little diamond-in-the-strip-mall-rough is no easy task. But when the search ends with a cozy spot that whips up a mean pad-see-ew, is beloved for its creamy coconut cake, and was recently bestowed with an award of excellence from the Thai Ministry of Commerce for serving up truly authentic grub? To the victor go the spoils, we say.

Devout Thai lovers of Sandy Springs sniffed out Little Thai nearly a decade ago, leading them to an intimate spot hidden just behind the hubbub of Roswell Road. And thanks to the Thai cook, who's spent three decades perfecting the art of the cuisine, Little Thai's steamy, spicy fare has elicited all kinds of adoration from fans both big (see aforementioned Thai Select Premium Award) and small. No, really! Just ask owner Rick to show you the restaurant's love letter penned by a loyal eight-year-old fan, who really loves the Tom Kha soup (and who surely has a future in food writing).

But Little Thai's mad skills don't stop with the curry list. While the basil eggplant duck is definitely worth indulging in, the new specials are leaps and bounds beyond typical Thai fare. The light, refreshing avocado mango rolls are a good example. Of course, we learned we'll want to save a tiny little sliver of our appetite for dessert, specifically, for a slice of Little Thai's famous coconut cake. Pro-tip: the kitchen only makes two cakes each day, and it almost always sells out before the night's end, so it's best to act swiftly. That bad boy deserves an award all by itself.
