With gourmet Mexican food, a full bar and funky environs, this is Decatur's chance to rage with the best of 'em—taco in one hand, and...taco in the other hand. And a burrito on the plate. We're hungry, OK?We'll happily jaunt over to Decatur whenever our stomachs start making embarrassingly demanding sounds (gotta keep 'em happy, ya know?). And the gourmet Mexican fare served up in the funky fresh environs of Raging Burrito & Taco, right on the square? We're relatively certain we can hear it calling our name right now—those burritos aren't a subtle food. Scott opened up shop over 15 years ago, after he returned to the States from a stint in Australia that left him interested in perfecting California-style Mexican food. And if you made it through that geographical mouthful of a sentence—go ahead, sit down. Take a breather. Eat this slightly-crisped soft-shell taco.
Speaking of the tacos, burritos and quesadillas (oh, my!) flying out of the kitchen, don't let yourself be fooled. This isn't another quick-serve, wait-to-hear-your-number-called sort of place. No, no, we much prefer to take our munchies out back. We are, of course, referring to the impressively large, breezy patio with lights strewn between trees, ample seating and a replica (sorry, art nerds) of the Mona Lisa, but even better than the original (this time, she has a frozen marg and chip in hand). But we were really sold on the place when we learned that, in addition to said patio, Raging Burrito & Taco offers 45 ingredients for burrito and quesadilla customization and a full bar, featuring 45-plus tequilas, 16 craft brews on tap and a whole list of margaritas. Oh, and free chips and dips during the weekday lunches. Sorry, job, we're gonna be busy this afternoon.
