Ralph's might seem like any ol' ordinary bar from the outside, but once we stepped indoors, we knew things were different. The Oysters Rockefeller might have had something to do with it.Ralph's Tavern has all the makings of a classic neighborhood bar: deftly-mixed libations, comfy booths and a welcoming crowd. But unlike your average bar hangout, Ralph's also serves up some surprisingly excellent victuals. We're talkin' things like Oysters Rockefeller and a finely crafted Horseradish Burger (with, of course, housemade sauce). No, this is not your typical bar fare of wings 'n fries. (Though, to be fair, they do those well, too.)
Instead, Ralph's is exactly what the name implies: a tavern. So while this place has 22 HD flat screens, displaying the latest NFL and college games, darts and a loyal crowd, it also boasts a menu of downright delicious dishes. This is due to the new owners, who have spent the better part of the last two years creating the new menu to help bring this nearly 33-years-young staple into the current decade. And it's working. We learned that the tavern is not only offering free wifi, and serving killer food until 1 a.m., but it's soon going to launch a new late-night menu, as well as house cocktails. Until then, we'll just have to settle for one of these $3 PBRs. Shucks.
