This ice cream shop is an ATL staple for a reason. Hundreds of reasons, actually, like Coconut Jalapeno, Bourbon Fudge Brownie and, of course, Salted Caramel. And, good sir, that's reason enough for us.
Morelli's Gourmet Ice Cream is one of those companies that didn't take very long to become an Atlanta staple—in both our hearts and our bellies. Started in 2008 by husband-and-wife duo Donald and Clarissa, the not-so-little ice cream spot is opening up a third location. And listen carefully because those who live a little north of the city center are in for a treat (literally): the new joint is in Dunwoody. Yessir, one no longer needs to make the trek into the depths of Atlanta to get his or her quirky ice cream fix. The new shop is tucked inside Farm Burger, and is still serving up the same flavors that have garnered rave reviews by the likes of Food Network, United Taste of America, Newsweek and Time magazine. Flavors like Coconut Jalapeno, Chocolate-Chili Cheesecake and the ever-popular, award-winning Salted Caramel make regular appearances, as do more normal (but equally delicious) flavors like strawberry and vanilla.

But don't be intimidated by the craziest of flavors, like Caramel Corn or Boston Baked Beans; Morelli's prides itself on churning out approachable ice creams, too. "We make ice cream for the people," Donald explained. And the team at Morelli's is constantly working to keep said people satisfied, with new flavors cropping up each week. Old flavors make an appearance too, but like the aforementioned vanilla, they somehow taste better than they did before. And this magic touch even extends past ice cream to ice cream cakes, and soon, non-dairy options, as well. Yes, all of the flavor of a Morelli's scoop, with none of the dairy.
