There's a whole lot to say about a place that wields everything from homemade chowchow to Krispy Kreme doughnuts in its kitchen. But the Stillhouse folks sum it up best: they're just serving up a gourmet product, while sticking to their Southern roots.
Deviled eggs, boiled peanuts and pimento cheese: just a few things that make us proud to be Southern. Another treasure from our illustrious heritage? Hooch. White lightening. You know… 'shine. Stillhouse, the latest from the East Andrews gang, pays homage to all of those Southern treasures and more, in the form of over-the-top Southern-style burgers, moonshine cocktails and, Lawd have mercy, Krispy Kreme bread pudding… plus 45 varieties of moonshine to wash 'em all down with. Bless their hearts.

First thing's first: how, you might ask, does a burger get the gourmet Southern treatment? (Spoiler: it ain't like this.) Just take a gander at the PB&J: a towering meat-monolith of a burger, slathered in fig jam, boiled-peanut hummus, blue cheese, pecans and fresh peaches. Or the fried oyster burger, done up Cajun-style with lemon remoulade and grilled corn. We've seen a slew of so-called gourmet burger joints around town, but we're not sure we've seen anyone use ingredients like homemade pickles and boiled peanuts quite like Stillhouse does. And we could prattle on about those delicious burgers for a minute, but let us not forget what's really important here: the moonshine. Stillhouse's bar boasts 45 varieties of the stuff to wet your whistle, in addition to barrel-aged hooch, house infusions, a menu of cocktails struck by the white lightening and a little something called smoked moonshine. Choose your wood, from cherry to pecan, and watch the bartender toast the wood chips over your glass, filling it with smoke and infusing it for a few minutes. The result: smoky, woodsy autumn in a glass. (Sorry, pumpkin spice.)

In short, there's a whole lot to say about a place that wields everything from homemade chowchow to local cheese to Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the kitchen. But the Stillhouse folks sum it up best: they're just serving up a gourmet product, while sticking to their Southern roots. That's just fine by us—we'll take Georgia-sourced duck and barrel-aged moonshine over foie gras and champagne any day of the week.
