Autumn is full of changes—colorful leaves, plummeting temperatures and ice cream shops serving up handmade lattes and cappuccinos. Yessir, this little shop on Marietta Square got ahold of a high-quality espresso machine, and, naturally, we approve. When the going gets tough (and by tough we mean chilly), the tough (once again, the chilly) head to the best little place for warming up along Marietta Square. Where's that, you ask? Why, an ice cream shop, naturally. For at Sarah Jean's Ice Cream, the father-and-son duo is not only scooping up frozen confectionery delights left and right, but they're also slinging some mean Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Cappuccinos and Organic Chai Lattes. And right alongside the steaming hot beverages, we found a delightful assortment of homemade snackables—little things like Rocky Road and Pumpkin Fudge, along with gluten-free meringues.
It's true, this family-owned ice-creamery inside a 100-year-old building on Marietta Square finds a way to the hearts (and subsequently, the stomachs) of all their customers. To help the cause, there's even a moving train encircling the ceiling for the little ones (or at the very least, the young at heart). But, if the locomotives, ice cream (topped with homemade whipped cream) and caramel cappuccinos haven't piqued your interest, we recommend trying your hand (and your face) at some of those aforementioned, fluffy meringues. Yes, it may be true that winter is coming (and we're very sorry about that), but a steaming cup of espresso-laden goodness is more than guaranteed to help soften the blow.
