Eclectic Bistro & Bar

50% off Eclectic Bistro & Bar
While it may be true that Eclectic is quickly becoming a go-to spot for a wide range of international fare, we'll be honest, this joint also whips up a mean pumpkin-pie martini. We'll take two.
Quickly becoming a go-to staple for the Midtown dining scene, Eclectic Bistro + Bar is exactly what the name implies: eclectic. The sit-down-spot, which has been around for just over a year now, serves up a slew of quality, savory international fare. Whip open the front door, and the space opens up into a sleek set up, with light streaming through huge windows, and delicious smells wafting up from the kitchen. Sturdy rough-hewn tables abound, as do seating options: inside, sneaky back patio-side, or right out front. The owner, Laura, is from Romania, and her husband Justin runs the kitchen. Justin has over 15 years experience in the restaurant business, and quite the creative streak as it turns out. The menu at Eclectic features a variety of dishes, from burgers to schnitzel, and he's constantly updating it with newer, better, dishes. Speaking of updates, the place is rolling out the new fall menu as we speak, er, write.

The fall dishes, much like all the goods flying out of this kitchen, contain internationally inspired cuisine, and pretty mouth-watering at that. Crispy Cannellini Crostini starts everything off, a toasted rustic bread with caramelized shallots and crumbled feta. The main event though, (besides a Pumpkin Pie Martini, that is) is the Grilled Pork Tenderloin Medallions served over fresh brussel sprouts and squash, sauteed in golden sherry, garlic, and gourmet applewood-smoked pork belly. Of course, we wouldn't consider the meal complete without a hot German Apple Strudel, packed with tart apples, autumnal spices, topped with creamy vanilla ice cream and a cinnamon glaze. We'd suggest consuming this veritable feast in the quiet seclusion of the lush back patio. Even the most well-traveled soul will feel like they're on vacation.
