For at Sugar Benders Bakery, there is no old-fashioned, bland mom 'n pop feel to the place. In its stead, owners Veronica and Tony have placed miniature chandeliers, cheerful orange walls and a case chock-full of desserts that are as enticing as they are elegant. And this is precisely what they set out to do just over a year ago. Veronica, who's been in the restaurant business for well over a decade, started by making exquisite cakes for her childrens' birthdays before she finally scratched that creative itch by enrolling in classes for culinary design.

For there, we found a bevy of freshly made, individual desserts, just ready for the taking – free with this dandy app, even. Each day, Veronica stocks the case with over 40 types of individual desserts, ranging from the impressive slices of Chocolate Ganache Cake and Salted Caramel Bars to the less fancified, but equally delicious, cookies and brownies. Not your average little family-owned bakeshop, we can tell you that much.
