Sisters Kookie and Mae's Thai family recipes are all served up in an environment that reflects the sisters' personalities: friendly, whimsical and eager to make their guests feel right at home. When Thai sisters Kookie and Mae first moved to the Atlanta area from the West Coast, they didn't just bring with them an affinity for beachy decor and palm trees—they also brought a love for the recipes that reminded them of home. Earlier this year, the pair swooped in on the once-unassuming Main Street eatery and gave it a head-to-toe makeover, outfitting the cottage with whimsical decor, stocking the kitchen with authentic Thai ingredients (not exactly easy to hunt down in these parts, we might add) and adding their family recipes to the roster of Thai comfort fare.
Nowadays, merely a few months after the duo worked their magic on the restaurant, neighbors file in on the reg for spicy Massaman curry, piping-hot coconut milk chicken soup served aflame, and that sweet, sweet Thai iced tea (aka the nectar of the gods). It's all served up in an environment that reflects the sisters' personalities: friendly, cool and eager to make their guests feel right at home. And since "home" in this case happens to feel like a cozy beach cottage, we're happy to kick back and stay a while.
