Shandiz House Of Kabob

50% off Shandiz House Of Kabob
Fresh off a menu makeover, Shandiz focuses on the staples of homestyle Persian food done up right: heavenly rice dishes, juicy kabobs and stews so warm, filling and cozy, they give Southern comfort food a serious run for its money.
Norcross– if the intoxicating aromas of Shandiz's charbroiled kabobs and traditional stews haven't already picked you up and drawn you inside like a wispy cartoon scent, let this be your official invitation. This Middle Eastern eatery (formerly known as Baba's) is fresh off a top-to-bottom makeover, complete with a new name and a much more tightly focused menu that simply highlights what the kitchen does best: real-deal, traditional Persian cuisine. You won't find a multi-page tome of a menu or a frazzled kitchen struggling to juggle bolognese, tzatziki and saffron rice on the same stove. You will, however, find the staples of homestyle Persian food done up right: heavenly rice dishes, juicy kabobs and stews so warm, filling and cozy, they give Southern comfort food a serious run for its money.

Conventional carnivore wisdom might hold that it's pretty much impossible to bungle the meat-on-a-stick formula—but one disappointing experience at a Persian restaurant not worth its salt sumac will quickly prove otherwise. Fortunately for Norcrossians, Shandiz has that down to a science. From juicy cuts of filet mignon to marinated lamb, each and everyone of the kabobs are charbroiled to perfection over an open flame and seasoned with the perfect amount of Shandiz's secret seasonings. Each kabob is served with fluffy white rice, but we'd recommend springing for one of the elaborate mixed rices, gussied up with everything from fava beans to sour cherries. Perfect rice is a rite of passage for Persian cooks and a fail-proof litmus test for their restaurants. And after a spoonful of Shandiz's fragrant polo, we're feeling fairly certain they've nailed it. Now if you'll excuse us, that whispy cartoon finger is beckoning us.
