Here, the instruments are crafted by artists who are inspired by the classics, without the price tag of, you know, an actual classic. The difference between this decade-old music boutique and, say, a ginormous mega-retailer like Guitar Center? (Where do we start?) Everything, from the pedals to the amps to the actual instruments, is handcrafted by boutique artists and builders, not mass producers or big-box labels. Oh, and the folks who run the show are pretty rad, too. Owned and operated by a trio of musicians (one of whom happens to play with this crew), the shop is known and loved among local musicians for its friendly service, its laid-back, no-pressure atmosphere, and most of all, its dedication to quality over quantity.
Some vintage is better off left in the past. But at Boutique Guitar Exchange, whose motto is "Vintage Reborn," the sounds of the past are preserved in instruments handcrafted by builders and artists. With handmade guitars, pedals, amps and more lining the walls of the shop, Boutique Guitar Exchange serves the musicians who swoon over the sounds of, say, a vintage '62 Vox amp but can't quite bring themselves to plunk down a couple grand to get their hands on it. In other words, these handcrafted instruments are inspired by the classics... without the price tag of, you know, an actual classic.
