Midtowners wanted a simple, casual hangout where they could chow down on Mexican food without getting in the car (or breaking the bank), and this Senor heeded their call. When the crew behind Senor Patron first got ahold of the space below the Spire, they weren't entirely sure what kind of restaurant they'd open. So, they did what we wish all restaurateurs would do: they asked the neighbors. The answer from the folks strolling past on the sidewalks was nearly unanimous: Midtowners wanted a place to drink margaritas and eat tacos. Nothing fancy. Nothing trendy. Just a simple, casual hangout where they could chow down on Mexican food without getting in the car (or breaking the bank). And the restaurateurs heeded their call, in the form of fajitas, burritos and a never-ending supply of that sweet, sweet nectar of the gods: tequila.
Thus, after just over a year in business, this Senor has become many a Midtowner's best amigo. Because, as we all know, there's no quicker way to one's heart than $5 shots of Patron (yes, you read that correctly) and hearty, solid Mexican grub. (The Georgia Voice agreed, giving it top honors as "Best Mexican" in this year's Best of Atlanta awards.) Based on what we witnessed coming out of the kitchen, we know what we'll be feasting on next time we're in the 'hood: fajitas, all the way. "All the way" meaning chicken, steak, shrimp, and chorizo on a bed of veggie goodness, all smothered in cheese. All the major food groups, right? Between that, the tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, burritos, and various specialties, it might be a little hard to choose, but the staff is pretty unanimous: anything with the juicy, slow-cooked brisket is fair game. (Of course, veg-heads have plenty of options, too, beyond margaritas and salads.) So, Midtown, you got what you wished for: a place to kick back and wash those flautas down with any number of margarita varieties. Or a $5 shot of tequila. Welcome to the neighborhood, Senor.
