Oliver Bacchus, whose resume reads like a who's-who of the industry, set up shop in the heart of Midtown years ago, embarking on a noble quest to give Atlantans a place where fashion-forward design and personable, friendly service meet.In a lightning fast-paced industry like hair and beauty, where the definition of "stylish" can change from this to, er, this at the drop of a fedora, it's a wonder any salon can keep up for more than a couple years before becoming as passé as 'The Rachel'. And for a salon to consistently remain among the best in the city — nay, the region — for over a decade? Well, they certainly must be doing something right. That "something," in Studio Oliver's case, just happens to be a perfect storm of talent, trend, and top-notch products. (A little sprinkling of celeb star power never hurts, either.)
Celebrating its sweet sixteen this year, Studio Oliver is as much a fixture in Midtown as Piedmont Park and Pride parades. And after studying up on the man behind the eponymous salon, it's easy to see why so many Atlantans have entrusted their tresses to this beauty emporium. Oliver Bacchus, whose resumé reads like a who's-who of the industry, set up shop in the heart of Midtown years ago, embarking on a noble quest to give Atlantans a place where fashion-forward design and personable, friendly service meet. Tucked away on Argonne Avenue, the secluded salon is comfortable and down-to-earth, yet sophisticated and ever-buzzing with the energy of the talented stylists trained by Oliver himself. Of course, it doesn't hurt that they're also supplied with some of the best products on the market, wielding potions and elixirs from Oribe, the wunderkind line of products beloved by beauty editors 'round the world. We're beginning to understand why Atlantans (and even a cadre of out-of-town loyalists) have beelined it straight to Oliver & co. for their mane maintenance.
