Venture inside this cozy Buckhead hideaway, and you'll partake in a decadent dining experience fit for a king. A king who prefers to take his meals from atop a pile of plush pillows, that is.
Nearly a decade ago, Divan — Atlanta's very first hookah bar — opened its doors and invited its guests into a luxe den of dining and drinking. Eight years later, Divan still has it—"it" being that sense of seductive glam that's evident from the moment you walk inside. Venture inside this cozy Buckhead hideaway, and you'll partake in a decadent dining experience fit for a king. A king who prefers to take his meals from atop a pile of plush pillows, that is. (Indeed, feasting and imbibing while sprawled out on a cushion is no longer strictly reserved for royalty, couch potatoes or hookah-smoking caterpillars.)

From lamb chops and hummus to what might be the best kabobs in town, Divan's menu is just as rich and opulent as its luxe seating arrangements. The Zagat-rated restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes with Persian inspirations and a double-dose of decadence, from tapas like duck leg confit to entrees such as roasted lamb chops with sumac gastrique. Regular guests even lavish praise upon the black bean hummus—a dish so seemingly simple, yet somehow made downright sumptuous by Divan's kitchen. Equally tempting are the creations coming from behind the bar: pomegranate cosmopolitans, saffron martinis and lavender gin tinctures, to name a few. A word to the wise: as you're sipping on one of those bad boys, grazing on the mezze platter and perhaps puffing on a chocolate-mint hookah from atop your pillowy perch, you may begin fancying yourself some kind of would-be aristocrat. Our advice? Just go with it—it's not every day you get to feel this high and mighty. Luckily for us (and our nobleman fantasies), Divan is happy to indulge us.
