With a revamped dining room, updated decor and rather swanky-looking furnishings, India Chef is stepping up their game—but that beloved menu of Indian comfort food classics remains as delicious as ever. For nearly fifteen years, this inconspicuous little spot on Holcomb Bridge has been luring its visitors in, cartoon-like, with the scents of creamy tikka masala and freshly baked naan right out of the tandoor. And now, after over a decade of bringin' the heat in a serious way, there's even more to love about India Chef, thanks to a snazzy renovation. With a revamped dining room, updated decor and rather swanky-looking furnishings, India Chef is stepping up their game—but that beloved menu of Indian comfort food classics remains as delicious as ever. Which is a blessing, because we're not quite sure what kind of shape we'd be in without India Chef's tikka masala in our lives on the reg.
With its heady, aromatic combinations of spices like cumin and coriander, India Chef's menu of Northern Indian cuisine is intensely flavorful, without setting your tastebuds aflame (though, if that's what you're into, the kitchen's happy to oblige your Scoville lust). With dishes that range from familiar and classic, like tikka masala, to signature chef creations, such as the newly added chicken malai kabob, there's a little something for everyone, biryani buffs and naan newbs alike. No matter where you fall on that spectrum, we heartily endorse topping things off with one of their ice-cold Indian brews, a creamy mango lassi, homemade ice cream (kulfi) and maybe even a heaping spoonful of rice pudding. Multiple desserts? Just think of it as a way to round out your cultural experience. (That's our excuse and we're stickin' to it.)
