50% off lunch at The Swan Coach House
No need for the white gloves and Sunday best. Here, it's all about casual elegance and Southern hospitality; it's a laid-back dining experience in a landmark of a restaurant with a rich history and a noble mission.
We'll come right out and say it: a visit to the Swan Coach House should be required dining for anyone who calls him- or herself an Atlantan. We'd go so far as to say that an hour or two spent lingering in the dining room (preferably with the historic restaurant's famous chicken salad) is right up there with choosing Coke over Pepsi in this town. But it's not just tradition keeping this restaurant alive and well in Buckhead. You probably know of the Swan Coach House as a destination for proper Southern lunching, but what you might not know is the restaurant's mission. What is now a storied Buckhead tradition originally began as the initiative of 12 intrepid gals known as the "Dirty Dozen," who banded together to form the Forward Arts Foundation (and pitched in their own silver and china for the restaurant). Now, every cent of the restaurant's proceeds goes to the foundation, a nonprofit that has been funding the visual arts in ATL for the past 50 years. Which, in a way, means that each bite of that famous chicken salad or juicy burger helps make our fair city even fairer.

The Swan Coach House might be best known for freshly made quiche, the French Silk Swan cake and a rather infamous chicken salad (in your choice of chunky or smooth), but the most recent menu addition—a juicy, pimento cheese-smothered burger—already has its fair share of fans.

But it's not just the lunching that's made Swan an institution for the past 45 years. It's all about the thoughtful touches that make dining here more than just a meal. Each day, fresh-cut roses grace the table. The average server has been with the restaurant for a decade; some have been there for three, and almost all have regular customers who know them by name. For many regulars, it just plain feels like home. But you don't have to don the white gloves and your Sunday best to dine here. It's all about casual elegance and Southern hospitality; a laid-back dining experience in a landmark of a restaurant with a rich history and a noble mission. And, to be honest, one heck of a burger. And we, as one might guess, have had our fair share of burgers in this town. We just can't say no to pimento cheese.
