Now, thanks to a recent menu revamp, Harbour House Pub (formerly known as Harbour Bar & Fish House) has gone a little less coastal New England and a little more of the Jolly Olde kind, adding a little more turf with their surf: locally sourced meats, house-smoked pastrami, a signature house-ground Brasstown Beef burger, and a touch of London-style pub fare, to name a few. (Oh, and a fine selection of local beers—because this is Decatur, after all.) The menu redux all comes courtesy of one Chef Christian Speigal, a native Brit who's worked in Atlanta restaurants for years. Trust us when we say that this chap knows his way around a bangers and mash recipe.
Would-be beach bums, fear not: the seafood selections are still plentiful and, thank the heavens, those oysters on the half shell aren't going anywhere. (That heavenly backyard and bocce court are still firmly in place, too.) But after asking the regulars what they could do to shake things up, and hearing a response along the lines of this, the fine folks behind Harbour Bar decided to beef things up a little. Joining the much-loved sea fare like parmesan trout, ahi tuna tartar and fish tacos are hearty comfort foods and pub classics, from house-made fennel sausage to classic fish 'n chips, all with a focus on sourcing meats locally and preparing everything, from the smoking to the grinding, in-house. So, to recap: burgers, battered fish, beers and bocce, all in one place? Consider us hooked.
