Pressed Panini Bar

50% off Pressed Panini Bar
After sinking our teeth into a toasty, warm, hot-off-the-presses French dip panino dunked into Chianti au jus, we're not sure we can ever go back to plain old turkey and Kraft singles again.
With a chef-driven philosophy and a kitchen full of snazzy ingredients (candied bacon, anyone?), Pressed is proving that the tried-and-true sandwich doesn't have to be a predictable, Jif-on-Wonderbread sort of affair. But, then again, we're not surprised that the folks behind the Square's beloved Taqueria Tsunami would inspire us to rethink the 'wich. (Translation: after sinking our teeth into a toasty, warm, hot-off-the-presses French dip panino dunked into Chianti au jus, we're not sure we can ever go back to plain old turkey and Kraft singles again. We are 100% okay with that.)

This nook of the Marietta Square may have once been home to a certain national sub chain (hint: rhymes with "wimpy"), but the foodstuffs now being served up by Pressed have little in common with their predecessors. For starters, Chef Scott Kinsey (who also mans the kitchen over at Tsunami) manages to sneak in a few surprising gourmet twists to each sandwich, whether it's the pickle-jalapeño relish atop the spicy Cubano, or the cayenne-candied bacon that's sandwiched betwixt sharp cheddar and sliced turkey in the turkey-bacon-avocado. Hearken back to the after-school snack days with the nostalgic peanut butter and banana honey panino (decidedly more delicious than what we recall tucked in our lunchboxes — sorry, Mom), or indulge your inner hedonist with the straight-up sinful combination of Nutella and Brie melted together. Whichever hot-pressed concoction you choose — and we're almost certain you can't go wrong here — Pressed's welcoming, soda fountain-esque bar seating is the perfect spot to saddle up and dig in. Fare thee well, inferior sandwiches of yore: we don't think we'll be missing you now that a Nutella-Brie melt is in the 'hood.
