A little over a year ago, one intrepid couple set out to give folks a taste of familiar Southern staples with creative modern twists. And we were, of course, instantly smitten with their cheery little Southern joint's bill of fare — creamy deviled eggs, fork-tender beer can chicken, and perhaps most of all, a pimento cheese recipe that just might rival that of our grandma's. (Sorry, Grams.) Now, with a menu shake-up, Tyler and Juliana's adorable Smyrna restaurant has managed to become even more deserving of our affections. Why? In short: all pimento cheese everything. Which, incidentally, also happens to be our new life mantra.

Indeed, for many a Southerner, pimento cheese ain't just beloved—it's sacred. And Tyler and Juliana's version is downright heavenly, whether it's spooned atop their deviled eggs, melting its way down a juicy hamburger, or – for purists – straight out of the container on a fork. (No shame in that game.) Nowadays, Freckled & Blue is whipping up not one, not two, but three or four rotating pimento cheese specials, from pepperjack poblano to jalapeño bacon. They've also reworked the menu to allow for even more cheesy goodness, complete with pimento cheese burger, pimento cheese sandwich and (wait for it) pimento cheese macaroni. Pimento cheese on all the things? Our wish really did come true.
