Since opening up on the Westside this past December, the flavors of Ssam Burger have been causing a bit of a buzz. What's so remarkable about the new burger joint? After rifling our way through many a disappointing Asian fusion restaurant over the years, we've finally found the real McCoy. At Ssam Burger, Chef Stacey serves up her distinct twists on traditional Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese flavors. And whatever form her experiments take – bubble teas, rice bowls or one of Ssam's signature burgers – she's showcasing her culinary prowess and zeal in spades. And we mean serving up, too – more often than not it's Chef Stacey who will take your order, prepare your meal and hand deliver it to you. And that kind of passion? Well, it just can't be beat.

Chef Stacey's enthusiasm for her food is so thorough that we swear it's palatable. For those looking for more traditional asian flavors, her rice bowls can't be beat. The Bulgogi bowl, brimming with marinated Korean marinated beef and spicy pork and accented with lettuce, freshly grilled carrots and onions is a testament to her culinary chops. But where her zest really shines through? Her innovative take on the classic American burger. Friends, we'd like to introduce you to the Saigon Burger, and we are sure it will blow your mind. Though the presentation may be a bit unassuming – at first glance it's just another beef patty in a bun, served up with fries. But what lies there-in is borderline addictive. The modest looking patty of her signature Saigon burger? It's certified Angus ground beef, doused and grilled with her custom Korean barbecue marinade (in which reside the combined powers of soy sauce, ginger, and brown sugar) which packs each bite with unrivaled, delicious flavor. And the fries? No, sir. Here we've got an array of sides to choose from. Whether we go with the miso soup, lotus chips or her signature glazed Korean sweet potato fries, we're never disappointed. In fact, it's impossible to not wrap up a meal here smiling – not only is the food just that darn good, but Stacey's enthusiasm is just that contagious.
