Never argue about dinner destinations again. Greek? Yep. Authentic NY-style pizza? Yessir. Pitchers o' beer? You betcha. This place has got it all.He wants Greek. And you want pizza. Well, folks, there's only one way to settle a gentleman's dispute about dinner, and no, it's not a duel. Rather, we suggest high-tailing it over to Mama Niki's Pizza, right off Howell Mill Road. Mama Niki and her husband Loukas are Greek in heritage, and pizza experts by trade. So this is one joint where the authentic gyro wrap is actually authentic, while tasting just as delectable as the hefty New York-style pizza pie that has regulars scrambling.
The space is open and welcoming, with high, lofted ceilings and brightly colored walls, bedecked with Loukas's original art and comfy booths that practically begged us to relax, take a seat and stay awhile. And don't think for a minute that this house-made 'za isn't the real deal. The crust is beloved by all, and has a "floppy factor" of zero, even when piled high with ham, pepperoni, sausage, beef, onions, green peppers, mushrooms and black olives. Let's just say, if there ever was a food that was duel-worthy, this is it. Not to mention, this family-run establishment throws down $4 PBR pitchers and team trivia. Just grab a seat, eat well and laugh a lot. Don't obey us, though, these are orders straight from the Mama herself.
