This Peruvian rotisserie and taco joint is serving up some of the best bird in the city and accompanying it with well-loved latin favorites and a bevy of locally-sourced, seasonal sides. (Meaning, it's pretty much impossible not to flock to them.)Oh, rotisserie chicken – is any dish quite as comforting and grand? We’ve been enthusiasts of slow-roasted poultry, cooked to succulent, smoky glory for as long as we can remember. In fact, just the scent of slow-cooked poultry is enough to send us on a flight of nostalgic whimsy – picnic lunches in the summertime, fingertips covered in the fowl’s magnificent juices. We could go on and on about it, clearly. So if there’s one kind of joint we can’t help but flock to, it’s a Peruvian-style rotisserie. Those folks certainly know their way around a spit, that much is for certain. We’re not exactly sure how they perfected the art (Is it the delicate blend of spices atop the skin? The smoky scent of open embers? The fact that we’re supposed to eat it with our hands? It’s hard to say…) but we’re certainly grateful they did.
Needless to say, we were overjoyed to hear that OH BOY! Rotisserie and Tacos had come home to roost in the heart of Alpharetta. They’re serving up some of the best bird in town (which we realize is saying a lot in fried chicken country). And of course, as the name would imply, the rest of the menu tips its hat to latin cuisine that we already know and love – belly-filling burritos, cheesy quesadillas, and delicious, flavorful tacos. Rounding out the menu are fresh made-to-order sides and salads, with healthy favorites like kale salad, steamed green beans, cilantro lime rice, corn on the cob and smashed butternut squash. And they’re all made with locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients –meaning we can eat out like we rule the roost without rufflin’ a feather about it.
