With a new chef in the kitchen, a seasonal menu and an unrivaled selection of vodkas bedecking the walls (140, if you're counting), 10th & Piedmont has become a go-to gathering place for Midtowners.Summer may still be with us for the time-being, but it's only a matter of time until Autumn is in full swing. And with that, our instinctive urge to bundle up, hunker down and go to town on some hearty, seasonal comfort food. (Preferably with a little boozy something-or-other at the ready.) With a new chef in the kitchen, a consistently updated seasonal menu and an unrivaled selection of vodkas bedecking the walls (140, if you're counting), 10th & Piedmont has become both a sleek, modern Midtown gathering place and a cozy neighborhood hangout. One that just so happens to serve chicken 'n waffles on a stick—but more on that later.
Of course, it should come as no surprise that an enterprise from the brothers behind G's and HOBNOB would manage to strike such a contemporary-meets-casual balance; a place where the polished interior feels like a hip hangout, but where the kitchen's shareable, seasonal small plates is unpretentious, approachable, and straight-up delicious. That's thanks to Chef Javier, whose new additions to the menu include dishes like braised short rib sandwich (for lunch) and wild mushroom ravioli (for supper). And then, there's the dish that, after only a year of 10th & Piedmont's existence, has already attained cult status among the restaurant's patrons: chicken 'n waffles on a stick, wherein a cut of chicken is wrapped in applewood bacon, dipped in waffle batter, deep-fried and served with a trio of fixins (hot sauce, sorghum syrup and powdered sugar). Sounds like all the right reasons to hole up at 10th & Piedmont and stay warm for the season—especially if you throw in some vodka. (Hey, it works for the Russians.)
