The folks at Dough in the Box treat their doughy, golden halos as the edible artworks they are – chewy, sweet, oh-my-gosh-we-can’t-stop-eating-them creative confections. 100% made on-site from scratch, fresh every morning, Dough in the Box’s 42 varieties of doughnuts span the gamut of flavors, with new sugar-fueled creations debuting on the menu regularly. Our most recent round revelation? The Cannoli Doughnut, which came around for Valentine’s Day and stayed – thank the Lawd, because we’re not sure what we would do without this fluffy, light, sweet cheese and chocolate chip-filled goodness.
And that’s just one of the 42 doughnuts they’ve got available. Let’s step back a bit and talk about the basics. These aren’t your run of the mill deep-fried doughnuts that we’re used to. Dough in the Box’s treats are California-style, meaning they’re especially light and fluffy (because there’s significantly less sugar in ‘em.) Meaning the sweetness in the blueberry fritter you just hoovered is mostly from the sweeter-than-sweet blueberries it contains. They’ve also got a lot of cake doughnuts, which have grown wildly popular in the past few years (because they’re so dreamy). Lastly – the goo ol' fashioned sour cream doughnuts – holy mackerel. This throwback doughnut is the stuff our childhood nostalgia is made of. If you can dream up a doughnut, dough in the box will make it happen. It’s almost like magic.
